Malaysia aims to export 30% of broiler chicken by 2030

The Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, said the nation is working towards increasing its broiler chicken exports to 30% by 2030. Currently, Malaysia’s exports stands at a mere 7% of the 1.5 million broiler chickens that are produced each day.

The Deputy Prime Minister is calling on broiler chicken processing companies in the country to increase output for the world market. He added that the halal certificates issued by Malaysia were among the best known in the world and many countries were keen to seek them, mainly because halal certifications have a Standard Operating Procedure for hygiene that is appreciated by the world market.
